Does anyone seriously think that a cyclist who doesn't stop at red lights will now choose to stop at a Stop sign?

Probably not, but until the city sees how dangerous they can be to pedestrians and will not let police stop them, and cater to them
What can be done?

The police used to routinely station themselves at that intersection and pull over cars for warnings and moving violations. Pleasant & Western was another popular perch for meeting their monthly ticket quota. It seems like far less attention to traffic enforcement is the rule these days. Anyway, what should probably happen is for the police to do periodic enforcement of cyclists blowing past the red lights - just to put them on notice that it's not OK to buzz pedestrians in crosswalks.

Not to stop kids or adults who smoke pot in the open, even thought its against the law, u can smoke only in your house. The city does not want the police to get or stop people for misdemeanors! And thats the truth! The city caters to bikes even if they Disobey the laws! They dont care!!!

I had to jump out of the way of a cyclist who ran that light at night, when the walk sign was on. I may not look elderly, but I have chronic back pain, so I was fortunate to get out of his way. Cycling rules should be enforced so that proper cycling will become the norm. Same with traveling the right way on one way streets.
